The Supreme Court delivered a historic unanimous victory for religious freedom on Thursday, ruling that the City of Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services (CSS) because it would not place children with same-sex couples. The Court ruled that Philadelphia cannot discriminate against religious foster care agencies based on their fundamental beliefs about marriage and sexuality.

“CSS seeks only an accommodation that will allow it to continue serving the children of Philadelphia in a manner consistent with its religious beliefs; it does not seek to impose those beliefs on anyone else. The refusal of Philadelphia to contract with CSS for the provision of foster care services unless it agrees to certify same-sex couples as foster parents cannot survive strict scrutiny, and violates the First Amendment,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion in Fulton v. Philadelphia (2021).

So you agree homosexuals should not be discriminated against and should have the same rights as heterosexual couples. Glad to see conservatives becoming more open minded.

Good. Now let's get rid of all the protected classes and public accommodation laws.

Good luck with that.

I would settle for PA's being limited to actual PA's.

My best example is that you can't deny anyone a room for the night in your hotel, but you can decide who you rent your conference room out to. One to me is a PA, one is not.

The government can violate my business rights, association rights, property rights, and, my individual liberty, but at least I get to tell the faggots to go climb a tree.

Would you really want a cake from some bible thumper who doesn't approve of your marriage?

The dividing line is when you allow the public on your property for the purpose of commerce. That creates a PA by most definitions.

I'm an Engineer, and by nature look for practical solutions that can actually happen. Getting rid of protected classes and PA's isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Hope the Catholic charities here don't make kids disappear like what happened in Canada.

Hmmm.....yeah, that was bad.....not nearly as bad as the atheists in Germany who murdered 1,500,000 Jewish and other children......

Did the number of Children in Canada reach that number?

Anybody who follows the law and has a basic knowledge of the Bill of Rights could have predicted this just the
same as that Oregon cake maker decision.

People can't be compelled to violate their own consciences to please gay special interests.
Just the same as Nazi extremists cannot compel a tattoo artist or cake maker or portrait painter
to make something that glorifies the horrors of the Holocaust.
Or force bakes to make cupcakes that glorify sodomy, to make things even more clear.

Catholic Social Services is well within their rights to stay true to their values whether you like
them or not.

Homos still have the right to marry the opposite gender and adopt just as heteros do.

Time after time the gays are on a roll...until it hits SCOTUS and freedom of religion slaps them down

Pesky Constitution

Those were evangelicals.

"But those agencies have become the latest victim of woke culture as activists seek to push them out of the adoption and foster care space because of their religious values"

from the article, why don't they tell us who are the woke individuals ,as my relatives are all Catholics
and most of them go to Mass weekly.

Why don't they tell us who anti Catholics are, the evangelicals, or and the Protestants.

Would you really want a cake from some bible thumper who doesn't approve of your marriage?

The predators who are at the center of this controversy don't want or care about the cake at all, or even the principle behind the issue. They want to destroy the livelihoods (and lives) of people they disagree with. That's the way Big Left operates.

Constitutional rights trump your sick perverted agenda. Too bad, Sodomite.

The bake shop owner must be punished and be made an example. Reminds me of the Salem witch trials. The left have lost their minds.
