Suppose the WORST Sky-is-Falling Prediction about Losing Obamacare Subsidies Comes True

Here Jeffries predicts disaster:

He gives several examples of plans that will go from costing the consumer three to five hundred dollars per mont to two to three thousand per month.

True?

Doubtful, especially since those are prices under the "Affordable Care Act." We didnt get the subsidies until COVID. Prices were not that high then without the subsidies.

But lets pretend it is true:

What happens then?

Families won't have the money. It's too much. Insurance companies will quickly lose their customer base, starting with the healthiest consumers. So they will have only their most costly clients and not the ones who pay mandated premiums but never file claims.

They will have to raise their premiums which will drive away custmers who only occasionally use their insurance. Now they only have heavy users.

Unless they lower their prices in order to keep their base. They RAISED rates when government started picking up everyone's tab. Why wouldnt they? Now they will lower them or go out of bid'ness..

Jeffries is concerned about hard-working Americans - NOT. Because that is who pays taxes to fund these subdidies thst line the pockets of the indurance industry.

Anyone else ROTFLTAO?

Obamacare was supposed to SAVE us 2,500 per family.

WTF happened?

And now we are subsidizing (risk corridores) those who know how to game the system.

What a freaking joke.

Even POLITIFACT says it's a broken promise.

Nope, there is monies already at what the subsidy would be without it being expanded. I guess you should say the old rate. Received notice today from my company that's the way it's going to be and on exchange business starts November 1st and if they happen to expand them we'll just have to do double work and redo everyone's renewal for them.
If they are sending any government money to insurance companies, that should be halted. There is no legal basis to do so, other than ill-defined emergency spending. If Soldiers are not getting paid to defend out country with their lives, why would insurance companies continue to get the bonuses Team Autopen gave them.

Finally they can get rid of their hateful last chance health insurance for none at all.

“The health insurance subsidies at the center of the U.S. government shutdown fight disproportionately benefit areas of the country represented by Republican lawmakers, posing a potential vulnerability for Donald Trump’s party in next year’s midterm congressional elections,” Bloomberg reports.

“Twelve million Americans in Republican-held U.S. House districts are covered by health plans purchased through Affordable Care Act exchanges versus nine million living in Democratic-held districts. Of the 75 districts where at least 10% of the people are enrolled in Obamacare policies, 47 are represented by Republicans in the House.”

The supplements are likely funded through the rest of the calendar year because of the difference in fiscal and calendar years.

The good news never stops for America's working and low paid classes...

Trump's new $100K visa fee could pummel red state hospitals

Rural areas that overwhelmingly voted for the president employ a high concentration of doctors on H-1B visas.
President Donald Trump’s directive gives the Department of Homeland Security the power to exempt individual workers, companies or even entire industries from his H-1B visa fee if it deems doing so is “in the national interest.” The White House has said a carveout for health workers is possible but has not yet made any commitments.
“There’s just not enough certainty around it,” lamented Capito.
Without an exemption for the health care sector, hospitals around the country would be affected, but those in red states with rural populations that voted overwhelmingly for Trump are set to be the hardest hit.

MAGA!

Obamacare was supposed to SAVE us 2,500 per family.

It's very obviously saving millions of families that much and more, as they're about to find out during open enrollment in a few weeks if the GOP succeeds in paring Obamacare back.

You are just getting older and haven't had a wreck. :abgg2q.jpg:
Last wreck I had was in 1980 and no tickets since. Yes, I get a senior discount and took the safe driving course a couple years ago here in Florida. Also went down to one auto as I don't need two to work from home. I couldn't believe state farm actually went down twice in a year. 2023 Kona I pay $1584 a year.

Better call your congress critter and tell them because it's going to happen.

you asked what insurance would cost if Obama care didn't exist .. I answered it would still be high because of the massive cost of living increase that happened during the last admin .. and the average Americans car insurance went up over 50% during the last admin ..

AI Overview

Car insurance prices have gone up significantly since 2020, with various sources reporting increases from around 36% to 56% by late 2024 or mid-2025.
So, mine has gone down and if you read the reply I just did to Admiral you'll see why.

As your car gets older, it is cheaper to insure.

As YOU get older, your health is more expensive to insure.

That was a joke. It's not a penis, so don't take it so hard! :abgg2q.jpg:

Uh, no it's not.

That's total left wing horses**t.

And the point of the post, which you generally avoid, is that Obama made the statement it would save the average family of four 2,500 per year. That was his statement. Please tell me you don't know that he said that you'll remove all doubt you are partisan lackey for the health insurance industry.

Because it didn't.
And people didn't keep their doctors
And catastrophic coverage got a whole lot more expensive

So cut the crap and address the post instead of just farting out your talking points in random fashion.
