Well, this is absolutely no surprise. Support for Capitalism -- by far the most dynamic engine of growth, prosperity and freedom -- is shrinking.

This is what happens when ANY system is perverted and misapplied. In the case of Capitalism, misapplication will INVARIABLY end up creating massive wealth disparity and dead ends for the lower classes.

Many who claim to be Capitalists, for example, have been convinced that any government involvement in the economy, such as regulation, is the bane of capitalism. The reality is that proper and efficient regulation is a CRITICAL COMPONENT of Capitalism.

The Meltdown of 2008 -- from which we are STILL experiencing the effects -- was a prime example. First Clinton repealed Glass Steagall and opened the doors to the derivatives that damn near killed us. Then Alan Greenspan publicly refused to regulate those same derivatives that damn near killed us.

And now it looks like we're going down the same ******* road. Is it any wonder that Americans are so disgusted with this version of Capitalism that a shitty system like Socialism is actually attractive to them?

Flood the country with illegal aliens, suppressing wages and making housing unaffordable for younger workers, they're going to be more negative on capitalism.
How many illegals do you see in custom biult four thousand square feet homes?

This type of whining is what happens when taxpayer funded dem grift streams dry-up and they have to depend on Capitalism to make ends meet.

Capitalists don't send money to dems. Unless it Big Pharma of course. They love Liz Warren. ;)

So, government runs up the largest debt in human history with inflation to boot that always accompanies it and it is the fault of free trade.

Sounds about right.

No mention of the dominance of lefties in education and mass entertainment.

I'll believe people hate capitalism when they stop participating in it.

:blahblah:
It does not help that every schoolteacher and professor from sea to shining sea glorifies socialism and demonizes free trade.

Those kids have no idea that Marxism murdered hundreds of millions more people than any other ideology or religion last century, and those that survived had their lives turned into a living hell of oppression.

Never in history has Socialism ever worked. Never

And Communism/Socialism has a great track record of upward mobility?

The well off in Socialist/Communist countries are actually a much smaller part of the population.

Survivors of the gulags and their Eastern Europe equivalents should be part of tours of college campuses, or just the people who had to wait on lines for food, or years for apartments.

The real issue is the skew of economic education towards Marxism.

Depends on how the poll was slanted by who they polled. If they polled mostly indoctrinated college students, the results would be very different than if they polled older working Americans.

Capitalism regulated ONLY as much as is necessary to protect unalienable rights and prevent people doing economic violence to each other is the ONLY sociopolitical process that moves society forward in a positive way and gives all opportunity to prosper.

No government can ever do what the people, left to their own interests, will accomplish. Walter E. Williams PhD brilliantly illustrated this in one of my favorite short essays by him:

It begins with this followed by a brilliant example to support it:

"The idea that even the brightest person or group of bright people, much less the U.S. Congress, can wisely manage an economy has to be the height of arrogance and conceit. Why? It is impossible for anyone to possess the knowledge that would be necessary for such an undertaking. At the risk of boring you, let's go through a small example that proves such knowledge is impossible. . ."
