Patriots are lucky. If not for a few brilliant deep saves by their defense, that game could have easy turned out to be a 50-13 game Seattle blowout.

The Pats did play good defense, the offense had nothing.

I'm happy for Sam Darnold. Good to see an old guy persevere through tough times and come out as a Super Bowl champ.

Darnold is the same draft class as Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. He's not even 30.....

It just shows you that expectations mean nothing! All we hear & talk about are the same QB's; Allen, Jackson, Burrows, & of course Mahomes! The MVP's of late haven't even made a SB, much less win 'em! OTOH, Darnold has been villified for yrs.; probably more so than Purdy of The 49'rs! These guys make SB's, now win 'em, & those same "Know-It-All" commentators will undermine their own "Mea Culpas!"

Mahomes has won 3 SBs and been to like 5 of them hasn’t he? Purdy made the SB when the 49rs didn’t have to pay him and even Darnolds contract is a bargain given the current QB market. If your QB isn’t getting paid you can afford to pay a bunch of other great players.

Boring? How could that be? New England set a few records this game, one possibly being the worst offense and total ass-kicking of any SB in history with them coming pretty close for a long while of even ending up first team ever to scratch without a point.

Surprising as I thought Mike really had Seattle confused by their unorthodox strategy:

The best part was when Drake Maye the QB of the Pats was already clearly out of bounds off the field when a Seattle defender came along and still hit him pretty hard, and the Refs would not even throw a penalty flag.
