I often like to revisit a subject without having to make a new OP.....a feature that allows me to go back to an old OP and have the new post become the post title instead of simply pushing the old post title back into the active scrolls would be highly beneficial.

There is no way to do that. The only suggestion I can make is to PM one of the moderators as we have the ability to change titles.
