Its the same thing if President Trump were speaking in Spanish to a leader from Spain or Argentina, or wherever, and instead of speaking in a typical US Spanish accent like you would hear in East LA or Spanish Harlem, he spoke in a more "refined" tongue. The other leader would be expecting an American to be speaking in a US accent "Hey ese wassup holmes", which isn't as discernable to the upper class in Barcelona or Buenos Aires.
