Sorry but it only started----------once someone becomes a civilian then the impeachment process is ended.

That would be giving the impeached the means to avoid disqualification from office. One of the two judgments that conviction for impeachment carries.

They would not have made a mechanism that allows for such a judgment, and then give the impeached a means to escape that judgment. A judgment whose primary purpose isn't to punish the impeached, but to protect the integrity of the government from his influence.

Which is what the laws was meant to do. I've read of judge being impeached but he then resigned, so impeachment charges were dropped because he had become a civilian which means that since he longer hold office certainly would not be risking integrity of the government.

Pelosi and her evil communist crew have far exceeded their powers on this.

But that did not prevent him from running for office, or getting another position as an officer of the government. Impeachment was meant to save the government from having people who committed high crimes and misdemeanors from finding their way back into government.
