I think they started with a finding and then went out looking for data to support it.
You hate it when science proves you wrong huh?
Not really, hell I'm wrong on a regular basis and my wife can quote chapter and verse on it, LOL. But if you think that is science then you're seriously mistaken. Science observes and experiments, and draws conclusions called theories. Nothing is accepted as fact until and unless it can be demonstrated to always be true under all circumstances. And even then it gets constantly scutinized and questioned as new discoveries are made or new knowledge acquired.
What that study does is hardly science, it uses previous studies that are themselves questionable in the minds of many, and draws conclusions. Which is fine, but to present those findings as actual fact is ridiculous. Surely you know that field of macroeconomics is far more complex than just income or wealth inequality. One may say I think this or that is true and this is why, but one does not say this is the truth. One does not advance somebody's opinion in a suspect study commissioned by a far left organization like the Center for American Progress and demand acceptance of whatever they say as fact. Not if one expects to be taken seriously.
