Student debt bailout, the ant, and the grasshopper: The party that supported slavery wants to force low income taxpayers to pay for vacations and...

That has nothing to do with topic...why bother

Oh wait... you had to interject big bad corporations. Nothing to do with personal responsibility
Pretending that low income families will share an unequal tax burden for this relief (or any other relief) is specious.

But you see what you want to see.

Fair enough, but is there something to say about an education system that thrives on the exploitation of ignorant young people that lack the life experience to understand the gravity of the choices they are making? Kids grow up being told that if they don't go get a degree they'll be flipping hamburgers their whole life. That scares them, so they try to go to college. Not everybody is blessed in the same ways, so many of them are forced to go into debt if they want to pursue that.

Sounds like people should have the right to sue colleges and universities for malpractice.

I've already said you borrow it you own the debt

It's not difficult and don't put your lack of responsibility on anyone other than yourself

You borrow it's your responsibility. End

Mostly agree, but in many cases colleges are engaged in fraud.

If I buy a burger at McDonalds and they bring me a slug from the lawn, then THEY have committed fraud.

Those who go to the local state college and get in Ethic Studies or LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ fulfillment majors have been RIPPED OFF by the education industrial complex. These Universities know that what they offer provides little to no value to the majority of people, but they are all pulling down 7 figures from the scam so they fleece the public, with the government enabling the whole scam.

It's time for accountability from the education fraudsters.

My BS from Cal Poly was utterly worthless. (Management Information Systems). I learned what I needed to thrive in tech outside of their classrooms. My MCSE was VASTLY more valuable. I got a solid education from University of Phoenix in the MBA program, they took it very seriously over there. But really, Cal Poly was a waste of time and money. They taught outdated technology so I could have a piece of paper - nothing was relevant to the time. No one used COBOL or FORTRAN in the era of C and dBase (1980's) - which is probably what they teach today - outdated...

I entered the doctoral program because Lockheed wanted me to - and paid for it. Did I get a return on their investment? Hard to say, I'm no longer with them - so they probably didn't. I will say that my opportunities blossomed, leading me to leave and go elsewhere.

Go buy a car, it bottoms out a couple of years later. Such is life and I won't repay that loan for them either

Ah, but that ISN'T the case.

First off, the car has a warranty. Secondly, a whole HOST of agencies track the ability of the car to do what it claims.

If I buy a Honda and the wheels fall off on the freeway, they will get sued a dozen ways from Sunday.

This is my own writing:

In Aesop’s classic fable, “The Ant and the Grasshopper,” the ant spends all summer saving up food for the winter, while the grasshopper does not. When winter comes, the ant is well fed, and the grasshopper starves to death.

When I was a child in the 1970s, this fable was taught to children, in order to teach us a lesson. We were taught that the ant was the good guy, and the grasshopper was the bad guy.

Today’s Democrats who favor student debt bailout have a different interpretation of this fable. They view the ant as the bad guy because he was greedy and selfish, and he didn’t help the grasshopper. And they view the grasshopper as an innocent victim who deserves a bailout.

For the record, Aesop was a slave.

CNBC recently reported the following about the proposed student debt bailout:

“While recipients won’t see that aid in the form of a check, any remaining balances will be re-amortized, meaning monthly payments will be recalculated to reflect the new balance. For borrowers, that means monthly payments could drop by up to $300 per month.”

“73% of anticipated recipients say they expect to spend their debt forgiveness on non-essential items, including travel, dining out and new tech, according to a recent survey from Intelligent.com.”

It’s no surprise to me that the party that supported slavery wants to force low income taxpayers to pay for vacations and restaurant meals for people with college degrees.
TL;DC

Sue your lender...see how that works

How does the tax burden of this relief fall disproportional on the poor and lowest taxed individuals? How are they forced to pay anything other than the tax % they already pay?

Wow, you can be incredibly ignorant when it comes to economics.

By paying the debt of those who's votes Biden is buying, it adds unearned buying power to a group that has produced no goods or services, more dollars chasing a static pool of resources, more Bidenflation. Bidenflation hits those with the least amount of disposable income the hardest. Inflation IS a tax. Government dilutes the purchasing power of currency to strip the wealth from those who depend on currency. Those with tangible assets are generally unaffected, so the Oligarchs of the democrat Reich suffer no affects, while the poor and middle class are crushed under the burden.

Of course crushing the life out of the middle class is the primary goal of democrats. The 99% in dire poverty ruled by the 1% living in luxury - as is always the case in socialism.

Similarly, Mark Zandi, Moody's Analytics chief economist, says the effect on inflation is “largely a wash.” He estimates that student debt forgiveness starting at $10,000 will increase inflation by 0.08%, as measured by the consumer price index (CPI), another commonly used measure of inflation.

Of course the inflation problems you describe began in 2020 not Jan 20, 2021.

.08% isn't "a wash" in a 9 TRILLION dollar economy.

Again, this exasperates already out of control inflation and will disproportionately damage the lowest wage earners in order to benefit the wealthy.

This is a vote buying scheme that will ultimately cause pain in low income households.

It's not about the money. It's about the fact that Democrats want to shield people from the consequences of their own actions. Nothing good can come from that. On the contrary, Democrats are depriving people of learning from their own mistakes. That's a really, really mean thing to do to a person, because it only encourages more irresponsible behavior in the future.
