Whether I felt like it or not, it would be criminal assault to do so.

If your signs were fake (which in my case they would have to be) you would be held on criminal defamation and sued for every dime you had under libel laws. If they were not fake I would sue for pornographic depiction without consent.

Either way, the courts rather than violence would be the answer.

There is more to it than this. Because the purpose of BLM is to harass, the act of the racist idiot was "in kind" and consistent with the exchange. Obviously no court in the nation can convict on the absurd charges. But the student has standing to file suit for false arrest and detention.

I agree that those actions should be prosecuted, but I am highly offended by someone intentionally try to inflame people in the manner this guy did it, and I would not have shed a tear if he had gotten his assed kicked. Wouldn't that violate public decency laws? Also if the pictures were photoshopped then it would be libel and slander. I am not sure if that is the case however there is responsibility with free speech.

Ok, charges have been dropped. In my book this would classify as police doing a great job. Considering they made an arrest, justified or not, which diffused a situation that could have easily escalated into violence. Now the school will deal with the idiot student they way they see fit. This seems like a near best case scenario. Had the cops not intervened and people would have gotten violent their could be broken bones, people seriously hurt or even dead. And probably assault charges for some.
