I am watching it now (1st season).

Goonies mixed with Stephen King's "IT", mixed with a dash of The Mist, and a splattering of Species.
I'll finish it...but so far..I am not impressed. No originality.

I need to add another one to the mix of the rip offs they did. Stargate. But with a slimey monster, ala Species. And an anorexic girl playing lead teenybopper...whom I fondly call Skeletor Face who is pal'ing up with a young TWD Darryl.

Stranger Things was a fun show. Goonies or E.T. written by Stephen King is a pretty good description. It's very 80s.
