Stopping Sprawl And Saving Your Community From Leftist Influences

NIMBYs never give a damn about "the law." They/you want what they/you want. The hell with "greedy developers".
Is there any other kind, really? YOU'RE not greedy, are you. NOOOOO. You want to work for less. So kind of you.
Meh, **** you, we won. :)

Winning, and much more importantly, the preservation of our hinterland quality of life is all that matters to me.

I was born, raised, live, and will likely die in my town so pardon me all to hell for not wanting to see it overrun by your pestilent ilk.

142 home subdivision is a "Leftist influence".

What a tard.
Yeah..I was thinking along the same lines. I don't know any liberal construction contractors and builders. :)
And they aren't building affordable housing for liberals. They're building profit centers for a population that's about evenly divided politically.
Righties who want to escape living near the big, scary city that's a bad influence on their chillins, and lefties...well...looking to do about the same. :auiqs.jpg:

They isn't dun wit you yet.

The problem is when they build a grade school. They they start the indoctrination process with their edumacation, n' stuff.
Or an abortion clinic. You know, to keep all the newbies from overpopulating.

It's not the 142 homes as much as it would turn into 1400+ homes built on the adjacent properties had it been allowed to proceed.....I swear some people's vision of future consequences is about as long as their fuckin' pecker.

Get the **** over it. We had the same thing happen in our small town...in 1982. The town planning board basically sold us out to become the sprawl that we are now.
I am witnessing the future consequences and trying to tell people who haven't been here as long as I have why it is the way it is.

And there were plenty of small development battles we won in the early to mid 80's where it concerned development. But we eventually lost the bigger ones. Delayed development in some cases, but eventually, it happened.
I guarantee, you will not be able to stop them all. So, I'll fall back to my old standby. If you don't like the town you live in...move. :)

I totally get why people don't want to see urban sprawl happen, and I admit, I totally get why people don't want to see it happen in Northern Virginia, which is close enough to D.C. that urban sprawl threatens to devour all of it. I realize that people need places to live, but hate to see virgin ground razed for strip malls, gas stations, and cookie cutter homes. If you can keep the wolves at bay, then I'm happy for you.

Sorry you sucked at preventing it.

Me, I'm not going anywhere as I don't mind the fight as it's well worth it.

That and when you can use their greed against them to ID and toss out their supporters and elect slow growth folks in their place it pays future dividends.

You have to stand up to developers. They embody the worst qualities of capitalism. Our little Florida county is downright hostile to outside developers. We have no condos blocking off the gulf, no high density gated communities, no franchises and no strip malls. It's still nice.
Florida once had a very distinctive identity, not found in other states. It had features, characteristics, and physical beauty in it‘s buildings and communities. The low rise Art Deco design of buildings was commonplace. Now it’s massive highways, strip malls everywhere and high rise buildings and housing developments. It’s a shame.

Damned if they don't build a store and a gas station too.
HOA Subdivisions out in the ass end of nowhere, the streets are an insane maze for no reason whatsoever and there's only 1 store, 1 gas station, and 1 restaurant. This is the epitome of poor civic planning.

And I thought holler livin was only for hicks. Hell, maybe they will get another pawn shop to cull.

You talk as classy as you look. For your ignorant pretense that people purchasing houses far more expensive than you can personally afford are going to ruin your community is trailer park trash talk.
You're good at it.

^^^ Jack's way of saying what a total pansy failure do-nothing he is, so his advice to others is to let those supposed to represent you push you around for their own self-aggrandizement and then if you don't like it, run away to somewhere else so they can do the same thing to you all over again! And people wonder what is wrong with America with such gutless pushovers as him as a "citizen."
