I think it is just the opposite. Urban areas are where young people want to live and they drive up real estate prices there. If you want to raise your family in more than an apartment you have to leave those highly desirable, urban areas.Liberal policies are what really causes the Suburban Subdivisions to flourish.
Libs allow their cities to rage out of control with crime and other problems like people camping and crapping on the sidewalks.
As a result, people seek refuge in the suburbs where they can have their own government and don't have to be concerned. Just remember not to wear their gucci loafers if they find themselves in the local urban hell hole.
The problem for the Right is that their ideology generally conflicts with urban living. People in cities depend on gov't services, like mass transit, and are willing to pay for them.
