Why would Biden admin – which thus far has actively blocked most immigration enforcement – announce that it will place family units into expedited removal??ANSWER: to give asylum officers in USCIS the ability to grant those aliens asylum.

That will exists among Progressives. We do want Urban Renewal, as we once had before Reagan gutted it, but a real renewal, not the halfassed compromise measures we had in the 70's. Something akin to Radical Reconstruction, ironically once the policy of Republicans (post-Civil War, no time recently of course). We could easily develop the "inner city" zones, including good schools, jobs, infrastructure. Why not? This country has a history of opposing black prosperity, certainly, and the whole "black Wall St." thing in Tulsa is a good example of this. Are we not past that crap yet?

I'm just making the point that while the liberal-centrists like Pelosi and Biden and Shumer won't get these things done, they ARE Progressive policies.

And you perhaps have not bothered to find out that the immigrants coming now are not Mexican, but mostly Central American. Immigrants are already screened for criminality.

I realize most of you have little clue about "Hispanics" or anyone else, so here's some assistance. The "Hispanic" population of the USA is not divided primarily by their legality as immigrants, but by their ethnicity. "Hispanic" is not an ethnicity. Ethnicity means: Mexican, Guatemalan, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Honduran, Colombian, Dominican. I have known a lot of legal Mexicans in the USA and all were in support of the illegal immigrants. If you talk only to righwing Cubans, then you'll get a different picture... until the issue involves CUBAN immigrants then suddenly even gringo Republicans want them here.
