Speaker Johnson: Biden just announced that he would veto our bill to prevent noncitizens from voting

I'd be supportive of eliminating Part C of federal crime code 611

§611. Voting by aliens

(a) It shall be unlawful for any alien to vote in any election held solely or in part for the purpose of electing a candidate for the office of President, Vice President, Presidential elector, Member of the Senate, Member of the House of Representatives, Delegate from the District of Columbia, or Resident Commissioner, unless-
(1) the election is held partly for some other purpose;
(2) aliens are authorized to vote for such other purpose under a State constitution or statute or a local ordinance; and
(3) voting for such other purpose is conducted independently of voting for a candidate for such Federal offices, in such a manner that an alien has the opportunity to vote for such other purpose, but not an opportunity to vote for a candidate for any one or more of such Federal offices.

(b) Any person who violates this section shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

(c) Subsection (a) does not apply to an alien if-
(1) each natural parent of the alien (or, in the case of an adopted alien, each adoptive parent of the alien) is or was a citizen (whether by birth or naturalization);
(2) the alien permanently resided in the United States prior to attaining the age of 16; and
(3) the alien reasonably believed at the time of voting in violation of such subsection that he or she was a citizen of the United States.

Thats a state issue. Voter ID is already required in Texas.
Second time, read the friggin bill and stop posting like an ignorant twatwaffle. It's not a state issue. If the states use the Federal registration form (29 by my count) they cannot currently ask for proof of citizenship. And for the 14th time, it not about Voter ID, it's about the registration process.

You really should vet the talking points your cult gives you. They make you sound like an idiot.

yeah, that's where the cheat occurs, aliens are voting with voter cards, so how is it if they aren't queried for citizenship, does a poll worker know one isn't a citizen? One really can't make up the demofk cheat!!!!!

And yet they do.
And the demofk argument is that they need to vote in local elections and state elections because they pay sales tax on merchandise they purchase. But since they have a voter's card there is absolutely nothing to stop them from voting in federal elections. Cheating by demofk 101

They aren't federalizing drivers licenses for nothing.

The humorous, though disturbing part of it all, is that so-called conservatives seem to be okay with it because they seem to think that by them being forced to carry a national ID that it'll somehow stifle illegals.

All they're really doing there is running the old ''equitibility'' gag.

I don't care much for the ''modern'' conservative, honestly. I think that many are, in effect, just as complicit with a lot of this type of thing, but for some reason they seem to think that they aren't. No sense of self-awareness...
Damn dude, that's why nobody will remember your name. ;)

You don't need a "national ID", just something on your legal state ID that IDs you as an American citizen that's required to be used in federal elections (or all elections) when you vote.....What's so fuckin' hard about that?

Again, what the repubs were going for and creepy just wants to cheat. I don't feel he's competent enough to understand it.

Why do we need another law making something already illegal, illegal?
Is it specifically illegal?

I can remember when everyone assumed that it was a crime to enter the US without a visa

Then some ambulance chasing lawyer at the ACLU said it wasnt

And now many libs will argue that illegal aliens are not criminals

Yes, well..I think that you haven't thought things through all the way.

It's okay. You're not the only one.

I've posted the legislation that has been set aside since the original Orange Man's admin left. They just passed the baton off, got their subjects into the coutry, and now they're gonna pass it back off to where it was (and I suppose many will feel like they won something, lolol...because that's how the left hand and the right hand works in the magic act) and pick up where they left off with that legislation I mentioned. There's alot more to the terms of controversy than you know. Clearly.

That's one of the problems today. Too many are just so gosh darned one-track minded (in the context of short-term thinking with ones belly kind of thing). Thinking about things within the confines of a little box. That's actually why the Majority is always so wrong, you know...

What really gets me about things like this is that the Democrats are always preaching to Republicans about compromise. This bellyaching about protecting for us citizens our access to vote, is a load of crap.

Just like when it came to DACA (aka Dreamers). I thought there was a good chance for creating a path to citizenship early in the Trump administration. I know it's not too popular here, but I'm all for it. But hell no. For Democrats it wasn't good enough to narrow the scope to responsible adults that were brought illegally into the country by their parents. Democrats cried about the parents being excluded and claimed the Republicans wanted to separate parents from children. A likewise shovel of crap, those kids would have crossed the border with their parents headed the other way even more easily than when they came. There's no compromising with these Democrats.

SO to register to vote you have to have a passport or birth certificate and driver's license, AND you have to show up to "the applicant presents documentary proof of United States citizenship in person to the office of the appropriate election official not later than the deadline provided by State law for the receipt of a completed voter registration application for the election"
Yea, not the DMV, not the courthouse, some other place. That sucks if you have to actually work for a living. I know the Boomers on this board don't work but the rest of us do.

You really should vet the talking points your cult gives you. They make you sound like an idiot.
Nah. I am fine with my priest's talking points. Something something sermon on the mount something something snacks downstairs!

Could be the DMV or Courthouse, or ... wherever states set up to perform the registration process.

You're not registered to vote? You've never voted? WTF?

Your priest is giving you these false talking points? You should find a new parish.

It literally says the election official. so that is a no. Now if it just permitted my Real notation on my TDL I would be fine with this. But it doesn't. Its designed to eliminate registration by mail, which is how most -if not all- voters register. It prohibits motor voter registration when you get your license.
You're not registered to vote? You've never voted? WTF?
I am indeed registered. Guess what. this would apply to us too. We all get to troop down to the "election official." In Texas it takes us months just to get an appointment to get into the DPS. This will be an additional nightmare.
Your priest is giving you these false talking points? You should find a new parish.
Nope, but thats the only cult I am involved with (well also the cult of doggoes and TexMex).
Too ******* bad.

Libtards who sit down on freeways stop people from working too.
I like your concern for working taxpayers, Boomer.
nightmare.
