Of course it was not true. Israel is a liberal democracy, even with their far-right government today. If something drastic occurred, it would have been announced. Some people act as if it is some 3rd World country or an authoritarian communist system where the dictator can hide such facts from the public for a year.

If something had really happened to him the world would have known within the hour, if that.
