We are seeing some interesting developments in the Cascades volcanoes. Many of the volcanoes are showing simultaneous restlessness. Uplift and increases in temperature of steam vents.

Any chance Portland and/or Seattle could be buried under lava?

Suffice it to say that the real story here is looking at the bigger picture:

Q: Where is all this energy coming from generating this uplift?
A: Pressure long-subducted deep under the crust from former platal material that once was part of the Pacific.

If 1-2 of these volcanos blow, it will be to release a lot of that excess pressure which in turn is very likely to also lessen pressure and friction holding the Cascadia regional plates in place--- long way of just saying that this could end up making another Cascadia slip occur again along the coast doing far more damaged yet still.

Don't these things spew about every 30 years or so?

Have they even done a study on the wildlife migration?
If the animals are heading out.........I would too!!!!

No, they do not. The last eruption in the Cascade range was St. Helens. And many animals were caught in that landslide and eruption.

Another piece of shit delighting in the thought of thousands of their fellow citizens dying in a natural disaster. No, these are stratovolcanoes, ash fall would be the dangers. Lahars closer to the volcano.

And you are another piece of shit. Damned "Conservatives" seem to love the idea of fellow citizens being killed in natural disasters.
Meh, the upper left coast may as well be on the surface of the moon for all I care about it. Everyone would be better off had it remained a territory, same with HI and AK.

Actually the title is misleading. Scientists are not predicting any major eruption just yet. Just reporting on a very interesting development in our local volcanic chain. Developments well worth watching.

Just envy speaking there from an inbred community of poverty stricken uneducated fools.

Seriously, what's with the hate about the GREAT PNW?

You live in the Hollers of Virginia.
Its (The LAND) got its natural beauty, but you are surrounded by inbred inhabitants.
Glad you are happy shooting squirrels.

They never do. When scientist warn of an imminent threat, the thing is already about to blow any second and there's no just denying it. What we are seeing here is the general intensifying of pressure under the whole northwest american plate from subducted pressure underneath from lost pacific plate. Still, never good news to anyone in the NW/Yellowstone area. Just more proof that Mt St. Helens blowing off about 45 years ago simply bought us a little time.

Just think of it...fossilized junkies and shitbags all the way down what was once, Burnside.
Frozen forever in a pyroclastic blast.
In a thousand years, they'll say they were praying.
