There was a time, before PC 'rules' and 'wokeness' took over American culture, that Hispanics, Italians, the Irish, the Scots, even black people etc. etc. could enjoy, appreciate, have a lot of fun with their cultural heritage, all the harmless but fun stereotypes, idiosyncrasies, etc. My kinfolk/friends of Mexican heritage, Italian heritage and such still do.
