Solar Bankruptcy: Pine Gate Renewables (boom to bust continues)

Are the AI wars over ... yeesh ... even listening to Elton John, the AI debate was monotonous ...

Free electricity during the day is too expensive ... nevermind West Texas winds ... or the OP's cheapest-in-the-nation electric rates from completely carbon-neutral renewable sources ... hydropower to smelt aluminum with ... go ahead and burn all the oil you want, no one cares ...

Who's paying the electric bill at these AI data centers? ... that's tax-free already ... why do big corporations need more tax breaks? ... I agree getting rid of subsidies for the Middle Class, we're busy trying to tax them of of existence ...

Renewable energy in America is in decline. Nuclear and LNG is going to replace it. Europe is the example not to follow.
Renewables will never meet demand and create catastrophic shortage. Major manufacturers from Europe are coming here

Do you know what LNG is? ...

It's this "all or nothing" attitude that says you're close-minded ... that you would liquefy something we already pump around the nation as a gas is ... well ... call it uninformed ...

Ask the residents of San Bruno how safe natural gas is ... and this stuff is A LOT more dangerous in her liquid form ... better to burn it near the well-head and ship the electric energy around the nation ...

Renewables are dead Fossil fuels and nuclear are the future. Reality killed the green scam.

SunsetMommy is a DISHONEST Cherry Picker misleading this MAGAt board on every single topic.

AI Overview
Yes, solar energy is Booming globally and in the U.S., experiencing Record installations, becoming the Fastest-growing electricity source, Dominating new power capacity additions, driven by Lower costs, Strong demand (especially from data centers/AI), and supportive policies, with Massive Growth in utility-scale projects and domestic manufacturing, even as challenges like grid connection persist.

Key indicators of solar's boom:
  • Record-Breaking Capacity: The world added significant solar capacity in 2024 and the first half of 2025, with installations surging past previous years.
  • Fastest-Growing Source: Solar is the quickest-growing electricity source, accounting for a huge percentage (e.g., 66% in the U.S. in 2024) of new generating capacity.
  • Outpacing Other Sources: Solar and battery storage are adding far more capacity than natural gas or nuclear plants.
  • Demand Drivers: Big Tech's need for clean energy for data centers and increasing electricity demand are fueling massive new projects.
  • Domestic Manufacturing: U.S. solar module manufacturing capacity grew dramatically in 2024.
  • Policy & Economics: Strong federal incentives (like the ITC) and falling costs make solar economically attractive, despite some policy shifts.

Challenges:
  • Grid & Transmission: Connecting all this new solar to the grid and building necessary transmission lines remains a major bottleneck.
  • Policy Uncertainty: Some policy changes and potential tariffs create near-term market uncertainty, though long-term demand is strong.

LOL,

What I posted are facts supported by legal filings.

Add this to the list. As reported in Solar Power World, (November 7, 2025):

National solar developer Pine Gate Renewables is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and selling its solar and energy storage project portfolio and independent power producer business. This will include completed and under-development projects, of which the company stated there is 10 GWDC in progress.

You forgot Solndra that $500 MILLION loan from the Obomination administration that didn't prevent that place to vanish from existence soon afterwards.

How do you do it to be continually wrong, was it evening classes teaching YOU how to fail in debate?

Trump has ended thr subsidies and we will focus on nuclear and fossil fuels.

That is actually not true.

Most of those already had sunset clauses in them in the first place. Especially those that revolved around tax breaks, as things like that have to go through Congress and can only be enacted for a set period of time (typically 5 years).

In this case, the current end was for 31 December 2025, and the President simply said he would not extend them again. Of course, nothing is stopping Congress from doing it themselves, but as there is no chance of enough votes to override a Presidential Veto, it's a moot point to even try.

The modern Solar Tax Credit actually came about as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. And it has been extended more than once, once after being allowed to be phased out in 2020. It was brought back as part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, and is simply being allowed to be phased out once again.

Some of us are aware of these being phased out and brought back over and over again. The same with credits for other things like electric cars.

And to be honest, I think that the subsidies should be allowed to die. Because I have long seen it as largely a distraction and not a real solution to the energy problems the US is facing. It's like a bandaid on a bandaid, and nothing substantive is being done other than simply slapping on more bandaids.

Renewable energy in America is in decline.

Well, of course it is with states like California actively refusing to allow many such projects and actively destroying others, what would you expect?

Of course, when most people say "renewable", they only mean expensive solutions and not solutions that are really long term solutions. And not ones that will actually provide power to do any good.

Renewables have met reality and they will decline and be replaced by Fossil fuels and nuclear. Otherwise we face an energy shortage catastrophe. Look at Europe. Manufacturers are leaving and coming here in large numbers

Wind and solar intermittent unreliable too expensive and cant meet the demand of data centers and AI.

OK, so you are using a definition entirely of your own making, and excluding the largest source of "renewable energy".

How about simply discussing facts, and not your own creations that are crammed together with your own almost nonsensical beliefs?

Was over $50K in 2018 in CA to put on roof panels. Now? Probably $100K?

Bunch of uninsured illegals pounding nails in your roof willy-nilly uncontrolled. What could go wrong? They fake a falloff and sue?

Panels go bad before you get any savings you dumb Black-tounged OXYEN.
That's right...... And the financing deals are absolutely catastrophic increasing payment plans.
