With the government taking a larger place in your lives and the government about to underpin the ailing economy it seems that socialism is not such a problem.

What will the outcome be ? People wont die needlessly and folk will keep their jobs and homes. Is that not integral to the American dream ?

Co-operation is always better than competition, why do you fight against it ?

We're nothing like socialism. The only purpose of government is to protect its citizens. Shoring up an economy damaged by a global pandemic is protecting not only the consumers, but the producers.

Spoken like a Brit that longs for the good old days of a Labour government...

Karl Marx: "Luke, I am your father . . ."

Benjamin Franklin: "Would you care to sit down and rest, get out of that hideous helmet?"

George Washington: "Good, bad, we're the ones with guns."

Abraham Lincoln: "Four score and pound your dick into the dirt. Get 'em, Ulysses."

JFK: "Ask not if socialism is good for this country, do walk off the highest available cliff."

Wrong. We are a centrally controlled society- the difference is we elect our masters.
ALL gov't spending is "socialist" per today's definition- from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs- both determined by one who has no skin in the game, a bureaucrat-

Central planning has no effect over my life, I'm isolated and independent. I give nothing to the government and expect nothing in return, except to stay out of my affairs.

We have elections as well although ours are less tightly controlled by large corporations.
Perhaps you characters could help me out with this question ?

What is the difference between bailing out large corporations and helping poor folk when they are in trouble ?

Your point is? Maybe you didn't notice what I responded to- and how- central planning.

The difference is the economy of this nation does not go into the tank when some average Joe runs aground.

Having said that there are lots of laws in place set up to assist the poor and I am not in favor of constantly bailing out
the biggest banks or investors.

Some managed failure would be a good thing, in my opinion.

But pretending that they, the biggest and the smallest economic entity, should be treated just the same is so stupid I'm not surprised you cannot see the difference.

Where are all of those marvelous high tech British made products employing millions and millions of people? Cooperation or competition!

Letting our Constitutional rights go. Americans won't stand up and take control of their country, we deserve what we get. The price of fear is high and sad.

Large corporations produce goods and services. Poor folk produce large amounts of poop that doesn't even make good fertilizer.

Communism is better than corruption? I think they tried that in Cuba and maybe half a dozen poverty stricken socialist countries in South America. If the argument is that government is taking a larger place in your lives under a capitalist system think about what might happen under a socialist government.
