While gubmint school eDuMcaTorS may not be teaching socialism per se, they ARE teaching socialist (I.e., collectivist) ethics and values and, thereby, interfering with most parent-child relationships and undermining our constitutional republic.

Socialism, then, means big government, and as time has gone on, the governments, both local and national, have become larger. Thus, more taxes mean more government.

Then socialism began in this nation during the Civil War when the income tax was introduced federally and the federal govt. gained massive amounts of power under the rabid Republicans.
Parent-child relationships were intervened starting in earnest during Reagan when he signed a bill to force parents to pay child support. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that states can't intervene in child-parent relationships.

There is no ‘socialism’ in schools as misrepresented and lied about by conservatives.

The story is more about being disgruntled over a public hospital and the author claims it is big govt. taking over when they are in competition with capitaist operations.

Pure tripe. Try again, pot head.

Put down the fucking bong!

Schools should be closed because accounting/finance has not been mandatory for decades .

Search Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations that is in Project Gutenberg for "and account". Smith wrote, "read, write and account" multiple times not, "read, write and arithmetic." He used the word 'education' Eighty Times.

does that mean education should include accounting & finance subjects? Basic math would be a pre-requisite for those subjects.

Adam Smith believed that a government's three functions should be to protect national borders, enforce civil law, and engage in public works.
(schools fall under public works)

I was being somewhat facetious but I regard trigonometry as basic math.

Accounting doesn't need that. However depreciation existed before money did. Don't you suppose that cave men noticed that their stone axes wore down. They just didn't measure the depreciation in terms of money.

But our brilliant economists can ignore the depreciation of durable consumer goods like cars and washing machines and call it economic growth when we buy more garbage.
