Could've been a pre-existing medical condition. I'm not even seeing a blow to the head.

Also, some goalies already do wear the padded "helmets."

Broke my nose 3 times playing and a slew of other injuries. In the end it's like with any other sport. If your unlucky you can die. On the other hand I can slip in the bathroom just as easy and chances are more people actually die doing that.
