Today's government IS Socialism due to the fact that our current day military intertwines "Free Market" Capitalism with the need of the nation.

dear, socialism is when the govt owns private industries. A military is usually never privately owned so not thought of as an industry. In any case owning one industry, especially if it is a quasi industry like the military, would not be enough to say the govt is socialist .
