Many are ignorant and don’t even know they are voting against themselves, but they do a 360 on specific issues once they realize it. The SALT deduction cap comes to mind. One would think that wealthy Democrats in the Hamptons(and others in high tax blue states) would have been all for capping the SALT deduction so they would be paying their “fair share”, but no, they went bananas when Trump proposed the 10k cap.
