So what ever happened to this investigation of the leaked abortion opinion?

So it was said, finding the leaker of the abortion opinion was so critical because it presents a threat to the Supreme Court. So what ever happened to that? We were told this person needs to be exposed and disbarred if they hold a law degree. He or she is virtually public enemy number one. It's been almost three months and crickets.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Less than 24 hours after the unprecedented leak of the draft opinion that ultimately overturned Roe v. Wade, Chief Justice John Roberts ordered an investigation into the “egregious breach.”

Since then? Silence.

The Supreme Court won’t say whether it’s still investigating. The court also won’t say whether the leaker has been identified or whether anyone has been disciplined. Or whether an outside law firm or the FBI has been called in. Or whether the court will ever offer an accounting of what transpired. Or whether it has taken steps to try to prevent a repeat.

To these and other emailed questions, Supreme Court spokeswoman Patricia McCabe said, also by email: “The Court has no comment.”

I suspect Roberts back burnered it and turned the heat off, after the official decision got dropped. It was his problem, anyway.

*Joe, Nancy and Obama told the media to drop the story. They know their voters will focus on the next shiny object they dangle in front of them. They’ve been doing it for decades. Works every time. There was never going to be a real investigation.
