So what are you doing for Corvid-19 fun

I'm working too. Seems most of us essential workers are Democrats.

So what do you do that is so essential?
I’m in the auto industry.

Salesman? Work at the Jiffy Lube, maybe the carwash?

Tire jockey at the tire store?
I already answered the question.
Go back and read the previous posts.

Ok. Workie. Get back to work and quit dinking around on the computer, on the boss' time.

I'm playing amateur machinist in the garage, trimming some 9mm cartridge cases. Every one has to be within a couple thousandths of an inch. Fixin' to crack open that half pint of Fleischmann's in the background.

Tomorrow I'll take some of those Trump Bucks to the gun shop and get more powder and primers.

I really want to get into reloading but I'm not going through enough ammo these days to justify it.
Once I get healed up and can get out to the place on the lake so I can start shooting again I'll probably get started.

That's the way to go. Commercial ammo is manufactured to work safely in any gun, without regard to accuracy. Their tolerance and quality-control is all over the place too. When you handload, you can tailor the round to work perfectly in that particular firearm, and it'll purr like a kitten.

Unless you're buying high end loads you're exactly right.
I only used Winchester Silver Tip in my .270 when deer hunting and sighting in.
Those things are accurate as hell!!!

Since when are bed wetters even employable?

They complain all the damned time, show up late IF they show up at all, do as little as possible when they do and then have to leave early.

When it comes to labor, I'd rather just do it myself than wait for a bed wetter to fuck it up.

Next Sunday is the spring equinox. So I've been busy planning a huge Roman toga party to celebrate the goddess of fertility. Of course social distancing protocol will have to be temporarily suspended for the traditional sex orgy.

When they sent us all home for 2 weeks with 75% pay they said don't do any work. Don't take your computer home. Those 3 days, we sold nothing and lost big sales because I wasn't there. We lost thousands of dollars. So on Wednesday the boss called me and said come get your computer and take it home.

When I first started at this company they sold $50K a month in aftermarket. I sell $150,000 a month in accessories. That's $1 million 800 thousand dollars. We make clear after all costs 20% of that. That's $360,000 profit off what I do every year. Before me they sold $600K a year so they made $120,000 profit off aftermarket. So I make my company an extra $240,000 a year. If I'm not there, they lose $20,000 a month.

You tell me, if this was your business, would I be essential?

Also I'm working from home. Stay safe.

So you work in a liquor store

Do you really believe that piece of shit is paid to do anything other than post leftist agitprop on the internet?

I'll bet it hasn't changed out of it's pajamas in the last 6 days.

.
I believe I'm better off than 95% of you righties here. Especially because I have no kids and no student loans to pay off. Making 6 figures you can imagine my bank account and 401K grow very quickly because I'm able to put 20% of my paycheck into each of them.

And btw, I'm only making 80% of my pay right now. So I'm struggling making $80K right now. LOL. Enjoy your unemployment checks. I hear they're giving an extra $500 to everyone? That's total bullshit. They should only be getting the max which is around $700 every 2 weeks I believe. Now I hear you guys are getting $800 a week? That's bullshit. They want to buy your votes.

Like the garbage man?
Enjoy your socialist check.

Make way too much money to qualify for one.
But I did enjoy my tax cut.
I'm hearing even though I made over $75K I still might get a check. The government is scared people are going to revolt/riot.

Funny a lot of right wingers make fun of blacks for looting and rioting. I wonder how bad things would have to get before us whites started to burn down our own cities and bomb our own business'.

When you lose your home and the prices drop I'll swoop in and buy your home and rent to you your own home, which is actually my home now. And when things get better and you finally have a downpayment I'll sell it back to you at the raised price. On land contract. And when President Don Jr. in 2032 tanks the economy again, you'll lose it back to me and we will start the process all over again. LOL

Sales manager.
Our state closed dealerships and labeled them non-essential.

As it should be.
I think you could wait a month before buying a new car.
I'd think so. The service departments are open, sales is online only and that isn't working to well.

I can see the service department staying open.
New car sales,not so much.
I'm just a lowly aftermarket salesperson. No manager title next to my name. Everyone else I work with is a manager of something but no one makes as much as I do.

But how are our customers going to get their shit without me? They'll go somewhere else. To my business, I'm essential. To the gov it's ok as long as I'm doing it from home.

I'm talking to most of your friends here who shit their pants when they went 1 week without a paycheck

“Blue collar” and “white collar” are not well defined terms. Is a retail cashier blue or white collar? Is an administrative assistant white collar or are only professionals white collar?

That’s why this question has no clear answer.

However, if you are asking about the proportion of the economically active population who work working class jobs, that is actually well defined. Michael Zweig has given an exact tally on this in “The Working Class Majority.” He used the Bureau of Labor Statistics occupational tallies to reach a conclusion.

He defines a working class job as one where you do not manage others but are subject to the control of management, and the job is a manual job where you do not have the kind of autonomy that “professionals” have.

His conclusion is that the manual working class, thus defined, are 62 percent of the economically active population.

But the remainder of the economically active population are not all professionals (“white collar”). There are 17 million small business owners and most of them do not have four year college degrees. They are neither “professionals” nor “blue collar workers”.

If you add the professionals and small business owners together, that’s about 36 percent of the economically active population. About 1 to 2 percent are part of the capitalist elite, whose main source of their living is ownership of major assets.
