We're all hoping that some extremely large cuts are coming from all this. But guess what? With all the money they've found that has been spent, it's already spent. It was overspending to start with. Never should've been spent. But it was and now it's gone.
So every dime Trump says they're "saving," they're not actually saving. Because it's gone.
The new budget, if its 100% only what the government needs to operate on, isn't going to net the government any new money. But Trumps saying he's going to send out checks as some sort of dividend from the money he saved? That's still spending money we don't have. The money they were wasting was money they didn't have. So it doesn't matter where the money goes, if we don't have it to start with.
Those checks will still have to borrowed from the fed, with interest. It's still going to add to the national debt. It's still going to create inflation and reduce the value of the currency that's already in existence.

This is the con. Everyone thinks Trump and Elon found bags of money that'll be sent back to the treasury. If they were to get back all that money that was frauded and wasted, then we'd actually be saving money. But that's not what is happening.
