I don't think there was ever a chance that a democratic government and prosperous 21st century society would ever sustain itself in Afghanistan once we were no longer there. It's contrary to the very nature of that region for centuries upon centuries. And every stray bomb that killed a civilian during that 20 year cash cow for the military industrial complex just recruited more Taliban, Al Quaeda, ISIS, etc.
But that damn sure didn't mean the present catastrophy was inevitable. As usual, Biden's myopic obsession with undoing everything from the Trump administration is the reason this is happening. Not just by his idiotic decision to withdraw the military and abandon Bagram AFB in the middle of the night before evacuating American civilians, but also his decision to terminate the Trump-created Contingency and Crisis Response (CCR) Bureau, which was created specifically for situations like this, to rescue and evacuate Americans trapped in hostile foreign crisis zones.

You guys keep posting this but over 40,000 people have been evacuated in the last few days with more coming. Trump made a deal with the Taliban that made it so the Taliban could start taking over.
