So, Texas has had nearly 50 straight days of 100+ weather.

I have family that has lived in Olympia Washington for 50 years... they say this heat wave is rare but nothing new.... ten days ago it was wet and 67 degrees....
The weather changes stop freaking out over it....
Yup, I've been listening to the weather guys in Spokane and they have been panicking over four days of 100+ weather (highest 104). Right now 10:30 a.m. 8/1/22, the temp is 68 degrees. Last nights 11 o'clock news was warning of more dangerous heat today--supposed to be 92. LOL. WEATHER HAPPENS.

Arsonist Liberals no doubt starting it like many out here on the West Coast. When it's not them it's the State run electric company PGE letting equipment malfunction or not be upgraded
Speaking of PG&E. Did they have anything to do with the McKinney fire or the fires in Yosemite area? I haven't heard causes for either.

What the fuck are you talking about?

"On January 21, 2017, PG&E was fined $3 million and ordered to perform 10,000 hours of community service for criminal actions of violating the Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act and for obstruction of justice. In addition, it must institute a compliance and ethics monitoring program and spend up to $3 million to "publicize its criminal conduct". These actions were imposed after the company was found guilty by a federal jury in August 2016 of six of the twelve charges against the company in US District Court.[69]"

You should stop saying things about California utilities until you learn what's going on there ...

Do you have any Texas weather station reporting 50 consecutive days of 100ºF temperatures or above? ... c'mon now, don't be shy ...

Texas is hot summer weather country. Some years it gets beastly hot and other years not so bad, but that is nothing new. This area, which includes states further west like New Mexico and Arizona have always been hot and dry in the summer for thousands of years, at least since humans began occupying the area and has nothing at all to do with climate change. And certainly nothing to do with human activity.

My local radio station gives weather for the region ... triple digit everywhere except Eureka, CA ... low 60's for highs and upper 50's for lows ...

Normal as normal can be ... it might be another five years until we see everyplace in the triple digits ... but I don't want to hear it until Eureka is triple digit ...

I haven't heard yet but it wouldn't surprise me. Either them or climate change activist

50 straight days over a hundred?

Is that common?

Arson should be subject to the death penalty. These are some sick people. Like rabid dogs, they should be put down.

This NOT "normal" nor is it just "weather"

All of this is consistent with the effects of human-caused warming. We’ve experienced tremendous summertime warming in Texas in recent decades. This summer is running about 6 degrees higher than the twentieth-century average, according to John Nielsen-Gammon, the state climatologist and a professor of atmospheric sciences at Texas A&M. He estimates that roughly one quarter of that abnormal heat is attributable to climate change. Climate change is making droughts worse by increasing the temperatures and thereby increasing how rapidly everything dries out,” Nielsen-Gammon said.

Weather isn't climate.
This is Keyser's Ridge, MD...circa 1940ish.

A few years later "The Coming Ice Age" was all the rage...

Weather is weather. Sometimes it's hot and sometimes it not. i

Just because it's unusual doesn't foreshadow there end of days.
