The US basically built China. Now they steal from us and act like spoiled children when we asked them to start paying some rent. They wont survive without the US consumer and they know it. They have backed themselves into a corner. Trump will let them continue do so and then give them a small concession to make them feel like they have won something, which is extremely important for them so they don’t look weak, meanwhile, the US will end up in a much better position. The left will spin it like Trump gave in and conveniently ignore that the entire point was to get the tariff numbers through the roof so he would have more room to negotiate back down. It is like a store raising their prices by 50% and then rolling out a 35% off sale. Democrats are just dumb enough to believe that the consumer(China in this analogy) got a great deal.
