Something that's no hindrance to getting reelected by the way. Openly threatening to take a part of European territory is perfectly acceptable. Starting UNPROVOKED trade wars is no problem. Alliances don't mean much if anything. In fact, siding with the aggressor is preferred. The environment should be ignored in favor of profit. All of these things by the way are true for Canadians to. -In 2008 American greed and deregulation of the banks severely damaged and outright bankrupted European nations. An economic shock, causing huge deficits that will take generations to completely recover from.
-We saw him completely fucking up his response to the most severe global health situation since the Spanish Flu.
-During Trump first term we saw him live on television try to overturn an election in scenes that we expect from Bolivia.
-Now he's threatening the invade Canada and Greenland.
-He's leaving Ukraine to his faith, although helping them resist is both moral and strategically a far better choice.
-He's completely given up on combatting global climate change, which is causing a serious uptick in natural disasters worldwide. In fact, he's actively trying to sabotage the entire world's ability to respond. By threatening countries over their environmental policy.
-He's trying to pressure global companies to adhere to HIS culture war BS.
-He's actively using the executive branch to not just go after his perceived enemies, but openly and actively making the rule of law unavailable to them by punishing those in the legal profession that defend them.
-Now he's starting a global trade war, threatening and damaging the world economy without any provocation.

China is not a saint. In fact, despite all this at the end of the day it might still be a better choice to support the US. But don't pretend it's a no-brainer. Because let me tell you. From a European who pays attention the difference between the US and China is like the difference between plague and cholera at the moment.
