The fox went in the pond for whatever reason, couldn't get out because of the walled sides, and drowned. Shortly after it died, someone pulled it out, posed it, waited for rigor mortis, then set it up and took the pictures.

In the western US there are signs from city public works departments telling people to allow their cold water to run slightly and hot water to drip to avoid the lines freezing in the home and 4' below ground. Several areas in the west have had such cold temps that the frost line is well below 4' this year.

Its creating havoc with many municipalities.
