New Study Finds Warming Saves Lives…Cold Temperatures 12 Times More Deadly Than Excess Heat

You really should have tried harder at school .
It's what is called elementary Logic , or the lack of it .

You are making an utter fool of yourself already told that the paper explains their methodology which you never read because you are busy being an idiot.

Go read the dam paper!

Warming is good for us, more food, more arable land, fewer cold related deaths who fight a good thing?

Every explosion in life on Earth from the Ediacarin Explosion, the Cambrian Explosion, and Triassic, to the Paleogene heralding in the mammals, has been fueled by dramatic increase in global temperatures, and cold ice ages like the Andean and Karoo being hard times for life.

Earth gave us CO2, CO2, water and heat gave us abundant life, abundant life filled the world with oxygen, without that oxygen, there would be no mammals and people.

Can you support the 10,000-person figure? I only came up with 3500 that die from the cold.

The report is bogus as the climate has already warmed enough to save those "10,000" folks. Bogus also in the fact that the climate could warm even more and those drug addicted street people would still freeze to death in the winter.

New Study Finds Warming Saves Lives…Cold Temperatures 12 Times More Deadly Than Excess Heat

By Kenneth Richard on 30. March 2026

Excerpt:

Because cold temperatures are so much more dangerous to human health than warmth, a modest 0.5°C warming could save over 10,000 lives per year in the US.

A new study indicates that from 2000 to 2020 there were 6,129 annual deaths attributable to excess summer heat across 1,514 US counties (representing 91% of the United States’ adult population).

LINK
Pure bullshit. Cold weather does not cause 12 times as many deaths as hot weather. In the past 25 years, cold weather accounted for 65% of weather related deaths in the US. However, the number of hot weather related deaths have steadily been increasing in the last 20 years;

Cold weather
The answer to the question of which causes more fatalities in the US, summer heat or winter cold, is that cold weather accounts for more temperature-related fatalities than heat exposure. Over the last 25 years, cold weather has accounted for 65% of all temperature-related deaths in the U.S., while heat-related deaths have increased by 53% from the 2000-2009 to 2010-2020 periods. This trend is expected to continue as climate change intensifies, leading to more frequent and severe extreme weather events.

So no reply about the paper itself, typical avoidance by you and others who have no demonstrated love for science discussions at all just deflect and run to other stuff while ignoring the published paper.

Published paper is still unaddressed thus unchallenged.

How are you going to save 10,000 lives per year from cold weather when there are a max of 2000 deaths per year due to cold weather, most of those from vehicle accidents.

Recent reports indicate at least 41 deaths related to extreme cold weather, with historical data showing over 1,024 deaths in the U.S. due to cold exposure in 2023.

Yes, read the paper, did not see where he gets that 72,000 number. I trust a paper from Yale far more than one from a blog site that is run by deniers and liars. And there number is 65% for weather related deaths are caused by cold weather.

This is why warmest/alarmists are vanishing from forums all over the internet because they have no desire to be an honest debater which is why they are losing the debate so badly now as they chose to remain in 1988 being willfully ignorant and stupid.

So why did they put so many "thermometers" in cities and areas of already known warmth?
And then talked about "averages" .
IPCC --- Int'l Panel of Climate Clowns /Conmen

Absurdly it's like sticking extra thermometers in ovens and then telling Gullibles that it is getting warmer ,
Dumb ass, that has been addressed many times. There are correction factors for urban heat islands. This was addressed more than a decade ago, and the researcher found that the corrections actually made the heat data for cities a bit on the conservative side. And the UAH measurements are from satellites and address the whole troposphere. Do try to keep up with the science.

Liar.

In 2023, a total of 1,024 deaths were attributed to excessive cold or hypothermia. The majority of deaths occurred during January–February and November–December, with the highest percentage occurring in January (19.9%).

So I am supposed to trust a dumb ass lying blog more than the scientists at the CDC. LOL Typical shit from a MAGAt.

Sure, we are losing the debate. Seems Mother Nature is chiming in on our side. Over 850,000 acres burned in just one state, and fire season has not even started. Drought in many fire vulnerable areas in the Mid-West and West. Very little snow in the packs in the Pacific Northwest, and a major El Nino predicted for this summer. And in the meantime you deniers have your head up your ass claiming nothing is happening.

Yeah, warming is good for us for it means more food. Damn, do you enjoy lying?

Global warming can significantly disrupt agriculture by reducing crop yields, stressing livestock, altering growing seasons, and increasing vulnerability to pests, diseases, and extreme weather events.

Crop

Rising temperatures can cause heat stress in crops, reducing photosynthesis, stunting growth, and lowering yields. Many crops have optimal temperature ranges, and exceeding these can sharply decrease productivity. Warmer conditions also shift growing seasons, causing crops to mature earlier or later than usual, which may expose them to late frosts or other adverse weather, further affecting yields. Additionally, increased evapotranspiration raises water demand, straining irrigation systems, especially in regions already facing water scarcity.

iere.org+2

Water

Global warming alters precipitation patterns, leading to more frequent droughts and floods. Droughts can cause crop failures, livestock losses, and heightened competition for water resources, while floods can damage fields, erode soil, and disrupt planting and harvesting schedules. These extreme events threaten food security and the livelihoods of millions of farmers worldwide.

iere.org+3

Livestock

Livestock are vulnerable to heat stress, which can reduce feed intake, milk production, fertility, and increase susceptibility to diseases. Changes in temperature and water availability also affect pasture quality and feed supply, compounding the challenges for animal farming.

iere.org+1

Pests

Warmer temperatures and shifting climates create favorable conditions for pests and plant diseases, allowing them to expand into new regions. This increases crop vulnerability and may require greater use of pesticides, raising costs and environmental impacts.

Wikipedia+2

Socio-Economic

Small-scale and subsistence farmers, particularly in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, are most at risk due to limited access to resources, technology, and financial support. Climate change can exacerbate inequality and poverty, as these farmers face higher risks of crop failure, livestock loss, and food insecurity.

Oxfam America+1

Potential

In some regions, warmer temperatures and longer growing seasons may initially benefit certain crops, but these gains are often offset by water stress, extreme weather, and pest pressures.

Oxfam America+1

Summary

Overall, global warming poses a complex set of challenges for agriculture, including reduced crop productivity, stressed livestock, increased pest and disease pressures, and heightened vulnerability to extreme weather. Addressing these impacts will require adaptive strategies such as improved irrigation, resilient crop varieties, pest management, and policies supporting vulnerable farmers to maintain global food security.
