So High Speed Rail isn't needed?

It is in other countries

None of the proposals libs have made for HSR in this country include stops at all of the small towns in between.

The proposal in Ohio (that was shot down by the state's previous lib governor, Kasich) was planned only to stop at 4 cities throughout the whole state skipping everyone else.

Multiple stops in small towns defeats the purpose of high speed rail.
We have local lines for that

At least according to trump. Apparently air fare is only $2.00

Which is good because I need to fly back to Kansas and get my ID so I can buy some milk here.

“We’re gonna start a big investigation on that because it’s– I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said. “Nobody’s ever seen anything like it. Nobody has ever seen anything like it. The worst overruns that there have ever been in the history of our country. And it wasn’t even necessary. I would have said, you don’t buy it. You take an airplane – it costs you $2. It costs you nothing. You take an airplane. But this got started. And if you have to, you drive, you can drive.”
There's a reason why Trump doesn't want his grades released OP.

He's a dunce...

There were no plans made by libs for "local lines" in Ohio.

Further, why shouldn't small and medium sized town people have access to fast trains too, their tax dollars are paying for it as well.

Not only that, but they are the ones who will actually be delayed at the grade crossings as trains whip by.

High speed rail shouldn't have ANY grade crossings.

Europe has high speed rail
China has high speed rail
Japan has high speed rail
Even India has high speed rail

The US still uses 1980s technology
And only TWO lines, make enough money to support themselves. All the rest need massive government subsidies to stay in business.

It is called providing rail services to rural areas

Its not just rural areas, but a lot of smaller and medium sized urban centers are kept out the high speed mix.

And even in large metropolitan super cities like Cleveland, the stations are put in places that are totally inconvenient for most the metropolitan area's middle class, usually avoiding suburban areas completely for the inner city slum areas.

Small and medium cities need light rail to connect to high speed rail that connects major cities

A lot of people in smaller cities don't want to go to major cities, but instead when they travel they want to go to other smaller cities.

Sounds like the plan you have is just to hassle people living in smaller cities, rural areas and suburbia.

We are not Europe and Asia. We love the freedom that driving in our own vehicles provides. The powerful want to control that. They control our movement in passenger jets and on ships at sea and they need to control us driving vehicles. One of the reasons for the electric green deal agendas which also removes any type of fuel/energy to use except electric.

Small towns don’t have interstates either
They have to drive local roads to reach interstate highways and then get off and drive local roads to get to another small town

High speed rail has been a boondoggle for decades. Apparently, the only way to keep it paying is to never actually build a high speed rail.

According to wiki, the only high-speed rail in the United States is Amtrak’s Acela line that is only high-speed for a little over 10% of its total distance.

Amtrak is unsafe enough on its regular lines. Damned if I’ll get on an Amtrak that goes 150 miles an hour.

They’ve been talking about high-speed rail in Houston since I was a kid. Of course, nothing has ever come of it. Just another exciting project for the future to keep throwing tax money at.

Libs hate air travel because government does not supply free or almost free tickets on privste airlines

But government does run passenger rail lines at a loss because of cheap tickets for lefties

I have taken Acela many times.
It is hurry up and wait.
There are some stretches you will hit 130 mph then slow to a crawl when you reach cities

The main reason it takes less time is they don’t make all the stops that locals do

I hate air travel because it is overcrowded, no leg room, takes too long to check in and get your bags and the damned security checkpoints. Any weather causes delays

With a train, you carry on your bag, throw it in the overhead and grab it when you get off. I can show up minutes before the train arrives while I have to get there an hour and a half before a flight

Trains have the same levels of security.

And thats good for some but not great for the locals

What do they do, walk or ride the bus?

If it AMTRAC I would raise ticket prices till the system broke even

You might not like that
