So California is on fire again...

Once again, Trump was right. He tried to warn California Gavin Newsom back in 2018, but nobody listened to him.

Fires tear through Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena and Sylmar; gusts of up to 99 mph reported

"The Palisades fire had grown to more than 2,900 acres as of Tuesday evening, driven by ‘life-threatening and destructive’ winds. The extreme wind event blasting Southern California is forecast to peak between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m."

How many people does it take to rake the State of California?

How many people does it take to rake the State of California?

Personal responsibility. As many people who own homes that invariably burn down. I mean how hard would it be for someone to clear away brush and dried vegetation from around their house and in their yard? I have 100 acres of woods around my house and I keep it clean enough that a fire wouldn't burn down everything I own.

Mother Nature once again trying to cleanse that diseased state.

What Mother Nature don't understand is, if you don't CONTAIN the disease FIRST and then cleanse........the diseases scatter to other states.

Same here only 800 acres. QDR hunting only. Can harvest 1 deer every 3 years per hunter.

Democrats, DEI, checking boxes. When will Cali. ever learn? It's starting to look like the whole state will have to burn down before these people learn how to govern themselves.

Only one deer every three years? We get one buck and one "anterless" deer per year here. But Wisconsin is infested with them, I see them dead along side the highways every day.

Looks like BlackRock and billionaire hedge fund managers are going to get some pricey scorched earth on the cheap.

I don't get it.....They pay quite literally a normal American's mortgage rate property tax for their places and yet let the enviro-terrorists rule over them as far as clearing the land around their homes.

Ok...
CALIFORNIA has (due to too many people) fires all the time....even in the winter and Fall.

What makes this burn season in the desert of LA so devastating this time is the 60+mph winds. It's like a hurricane without rain. People have outside water sprinkler systems for fires and have clear cut everything recommended around subdivisions of the expensive neighborhoods.....but 60+mph winds are throwing burning embers a mile away making EVERY fire prevention and extinguishing system ineffective.

Water hoses from fire trucks in conditions like this are no better than a squirt gun.

This fire is not going to stop until the wind stops.

Yet the dumb-shit homeowners let brush grow all around their homes.
They have no choice. Remove the natural habitat and a dozen environmental protection agencies will sue you to oblivion. It happened to a friend of mine. She saw her mountain cabin burn to the ground, took what insurance she could get and abandoned the whole mess.

I call BS.....Every video of a home about ready to go has brush almost to their doorsteps flaming away.

whats funny is there were fires in California even when it wasnt so politically one sided.....

It's part of the ecosystem's natural cycle.

Two problems that increase the issue is development in former wild areas, and a fire policy of immediate suppression that leads to buildup of debris and hotter bigger fires when they do break out as opposed to what would happen naturally.

What you aren't seeing is the clear cut lines.....that "brush" is expensive landscaping. (No accounting for taste)

The HOA of these neighborhoods maintains reservoirs of water and fire pumps to protect the whole neighborhoods from the fires. They also have a clear cut area around the entire subdivision. These residents pay outrageous sums monthly for their HOAs in CA for the maintenance of the fire break .

Granted, I can understand the animosity towards CA and their liberal government....but honestly not everyone there is as liberal as the government. It's just the conservatives are drowned out and ballot measures are easy to have put up for vote every election.
These ballot measures are so convoluted that literally no one can read them effectively or make an informed choice. So you see things like "vote no on prop 173" ads and you groan knowing that is how many propositions at a minimum are on this year's ballot. And you are supposed to read through all of it....in a voting booth. With convoluted legalese.

That's why California is a mess.

I reside is wisconsin as well. We have lots of deer on our land. But it doesn't mean we need to kill em all.
