They won't shoot randomly, but I am frankly surprised, the perp was not shot to death, by the other Guardsmen. That either shows disciplined action/reaction, or the need to re-evaluate the caliber or type of ammunition issued. Whether true or not, I heard the perp was shot 4 times. If they had just happened to keep shooting, until perp was dead, who would have blamed them? Nobody.

I have no idea what it was about living in extreme liberal Washington state, that made him think it a good idea to drive over 2,000 miles to shoot at Guardsmen. I am surprised he lived through it. Lots of troops would have simply kept shooting him until he stopped twitching, assuring the threat was down, because you never know until they lay still, with weapon at least 3 feet away.
