Since it Keeps Coming Up...

So, because your school has no shootings...

I never said that. Over the years, more than a few of my students have been shot. More than a few weapons confiscated.

And you say this because of all the freedom of intellectual debate which almost all colleges are famous for?

Because of all the people I knew in college and have worked with since.

I see this all the time on tv. Kids that don't know enough to remove their hats/caps in class. Boys with hoodies up over their heads in class. Torn jeans are common. Girls wearing short shorts. Not good. And what is this goofy way of holding a pencil?
So you think TV is real life? Tell me when you have toured schools in my area, and not some blue city or state shithole.

You would never see any of that in any schools where I taught, and that would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 in number.

I never said that.
You seem to think that your school, and especially your class, is the national pattern. New flash, it isn't. If it doesn't happen in your school or your classroom you call it bullshit or fake news.

Please. Even if your individual perceptions were accurate, that anecdotal evidence hardly qualifies you as an expert on the topic.

What happens in your classroom?

FYI:

  • NO, not all teachers are liberals.
  • NO, there is no vetting of prospective teachers for liberal political views.
  • NO, conservative teachers do not "keep their mouths shut" for fear of repercussions.
  • NO, unions do NOT order, influence, or demand any particular teaching topics or approaches to individual teachers.
  • NO, local school districts do NOT take their marching orders from the federal government.

More to come...
Hell just froze over

We all know your anecdotal evidence is the gold standard in La La LAnd

Also:

  • In 31 years of teaching, I have never seen a cross-dressing guest reader for students of any age.
  • On a quick stroll around the school this morning I saw exactly ZERO rainbow flags but saw an American flag in each classroom.
  • I've never heard any of my colleagues try to push the idea that America is a terrible, evil country on their students.
  • I DO hear the Pledge of Allegiance recited every morning; "under God" and all.

More to come...

Look at any peer reviewed article on whether education leans left and they all say that it does.
Dear Idiots-r-us

Everything "leans" something, somewhere. wtf are you insinuating? Speak up

When I was in school two things happened in class, order for all, and learning for most.

Note that teachers are leaving in droves because of disorder in classes. Fake news?

Not as many as you seem to think.

Just to help you and the Ensign out a bit, most teachers are liberals. Some are conservative. Some are so-called moderates.

So, again, it’s not as few as you and the Ensign think.

How long have you been teaching?
