Simple fact about Afghanistan.

And turns out you were 100% full of shit as usual and when proven so again are trying to deflect.

Would it kill you to do 10 min of reading on the topic before throwing in your fantasies into discussion?
I've been doing plenty of reading about this....clearly you haven't.
All you care about is this agreement on paper over 5000 Taliban members in prison.
Well....apparently they weren't released yet according to this article.

The U.S. military withdrew from Bagram Air Force Base on July 2, with Afghan National Security and Defense Force (ANDSF) taking over. The ANDSF commander in charge of administering the base did not learn of the withdrawal until two hours after it happened.
The Taliban declared the withdrawal a “dignified tale of Jihad, extraordinary sacrifice, valor, epics, and remarkable resistance of our faithful people.” The group took charge of the airbase on Aug. 15, releasing 5,000 of its fighters who were held in the prison located on the grounds.
Republicans have criticized the decision to release control of Bagram.

It's true. The rest of the story is in the agreement, the Taliban released 1000 Afghan Soldiers they had as prisoners.
If so...why did they still have 5000 prisoners still locked up in Bagram?
Where did this 5000 number come from?
Isn't this yet another lie created by our corrupt state run media to help bail Biden out of trouble?
The primary cause of all of this is the refusal of the Biden Adminstration to act in a rational or aggressive manner....instead to act like scared chickens running away from a fight. Biden chose to abandon strategic bases before he could get all of the Americans out of the country. This placed them at the mercy of the Taliban.

It was a prisoner swap in the agreement negotiated by Trump's team and the Taliban. The Afghan Government was pissed about being left out and stalled the release but eventually complied.

It's not a lie. Neither is Trumps lame duck withdrawal plans all over the world, he tried to carry out to the detriment of the incoming administration.

All of this doesn't matter if you have a president who backs out on the deal and chose to betray the Afghan government in the dead of night by abandoning several CIA bases as well as Bagram Airfield before he could get his own unarmed civilians out of the country.
You folks will never admit that everything went to shit when Biden showed weakness. The only thing the Taliban respects is strength....and Biden showed none of that. He simply proved that he was a coward who cannot be trusted to keep to his word.

Since there were not enough troops left to secure both airports a choice was made. Trumpyberra betrayed the Afghan government by dealing with the Taliban alone and not including them. The Taliban advanced as our forces withdrew regardless of who was president.

So after 19+ years and thousands of our soldiers lives, billion of dollars spend on equipment and training for the Afghan Army, and they were still not able to field a cohesive fighting force without us. That's one of the failures we need to remember for the future.

That was an excuse. Biden could have defended Bagram easily....but he pulled the military out....then sent 82nd and a Marine Regiment to Kabul airport instead. And the Taliban learned early on that Biden wasn't like Trump. Trump said if they stepped out of line he would fuck them up.....but Biden removed the ability to do that by pulling everything out except one airfield. But this is no surprise because the same idiots that bailed on Iraq were in charge in Afghanistan....pulling the same stunt on a larger scale. The CENTCOM commander when we lost Iraq to ISIS was Lloyd Austen.
Yesterday these numbnuts were telling us on live TV that it was a success.....but close to 100 former Generals said they totally screwed it up.

Watch this video....it explains the lies and the blame-throwing Biden used to try to blame Trump for his screw ups. Last month Biden said to us that the Afghan Army had 300,000 well armed troops to maintain order.....all the while knowing that the Taliban was taking over large swaths of the country.

Biden doesn't face problems...he ignores them....and then tries to blame everyone else for his poor decisions.

Because Biden showed so much weakness....and lack of regard for national security....our allies are at risk. Taiwan is now at risk from a Chinese invasion. Israel is now at risk. Who else is now at risk because we have this feckless, spineless POS in the Oval Office?

That's a given.
I used to train Ragheads.
They don't understand a proper chain of command.
They have the leaders and the followers.
When the leaders leave the battle....the followers drop their weapons and strip off their uniforms and head for home.

He was the commander in chief. The whole country was behind the effort to kill of capture those who carried out 9-11. Morphing that desire into the invasion and occupation of Iraq took center stage for the Bush administration for the next several years, and Afghanistan became the step child of the Bush ME wars.

You think one Senator should now bear the brunt of the blame?
Should they get a pass?

Bullshit. The biggest difference is that the support contractors who repaired and maintained the US equipment remained in Iraq under Bushes Withdrawal agreement. Not so with Trumps Withdrawal deal with the Taliban. He under cut the Afghans and wanted to pull all the Troops out by Jan 15th and not even leave the 2500 the military demanded.

You've been listening to CNN too much.
Like I said....I know why nation-building doesn't work in the ME.
They only understand two types of government...secular totalitarianism...or a Theocracy.
They have their leaders....and the rest are just peasants.
They don't believe in freedoms like we do.
Freedom isn't something worth fighting for them.....and the Taliban wants to live in the 12th Century. They'll tolerate a little technology...but most of it will have to go. They actually were going around taking sledgehammers to toilets considering them to be an evil modern convenience. Afghanistan will sell most of the weapons they acquired, thanks to Biden, and we'll be forced to fight against our own weapons and bullets all over the world. They'll keep the nightvision until they run out of batteries. But then they'll turn it over to the Chinese who will reverse engineer them.

That's one way to look at it. The other way is that Biden chose the withdraw the troops before the civilians were withdrawn.

Trumpyberra betrayed the Afghan government by dealing with the Taliban alone and not including them. The Taliban advanced as our forces withdrew regardless of who was president.

Trump, like Biden, like Obama knew that the Afghan gvt was feckless. Difference being he didn't lie to us and tell us how wonderful the gvt was and how wonderful the Afghan army was and that the Taliban taking over the country was not inevitable. It was always inevitable.

Where are you getting that from?

Had Trump pulled out of Afghanistan, had 13 soldiers been killed
That's the thing. Trump wouldn't leave people behind or stop the military from taking out the bomber that killed those 13 Americans soldiers.

But since it's Biden, the Republicans are attacking Biden
We're attacking him for the same reason that Japan, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy and Canada are pissed. Because Joe is an asshole who stumbled his way out of Afghanistan with no plan, no preparation, no brains, and without even telling the other countries that were there as well fighting this war.

The government can't protect everyone from their own folly. We have an obligation to withdraw those we deployed. With the reduction in troops by Jan 15, 2021 to 2500 those Americans in the far reaches of Afghanistan should have been planning for the withdrawal on May 1st. Joe bought them 4 more months. Was the government suppose to keep tabs on the whereabouts of all Americans who traveled there and withdraw them on a moments notice?

We know he wonderful Trump's plan was. He wanted all troops out by Jan 15. Well after he lost the election anyway.

"On Nov. 9, the same day Trump appointed Miller, McEntee offered controversial retired Col. Douglas Macgregor a job as Miller's senior adviser, handing him a list of goals for Trump's final weeks in office, Swan reports: "1. Get us out of Afghanistan. 2. Get us out of Iraq and Syria. 3. Complete the withdrawal from Germany. 4. Get us out of Africa." Macgregor said if Trump really wanted that, he had to sign an order to that effect. When Miller got a signed memo two days later, saying all U.S. forces had to be out of Somalia by Dec. 31 and out of Afghanistan by Jan. 15, his reaction, Swan reports, was "What the f--k is this?"

Right after Part One.

"The United States is committed to withdraw from Afghanistan all military forces of the United States, its allies, and Coalition partners, including all non-diplomatic civilian personnel, private security contractors, trainers, advisors, and supporting services personnel within fourteen (14) monthsfollowing announcement of this agreement."

The Afghan Army knew it's days were numbered. When I found this out I wasn't as surprise at their sudden collapse. Maybe they negociated with the Taliban without the US.
