I wonder if any of those at the top of the ladder who got the Bush tax cuts shop at any of these stores?

As the nation's economic woes continue, South Floridians looking to stretch their dollars have more options when shopping.

Thrift stores are popping up across Broward and Palm Beach counties as organizations get behind cash registers to support their social missions.

Let's hope that when the Dems take back the Whitehouse, Congress and Senate, they rescind these obscene tax breaks for the uber rich.

I still remember the fukking chutzpah of Reagan. The trickle down theory. Give more money to the rich and corporations to spend and the rest of US will benefit from their crumbs.


Fascism has come to America in the guise of Corporate Republicans singing the sanctity of tax cuts. When they have cut enough to destroy the current public services, then they can "blackwater" our schools, our police, our firemen, etc.

They already have our healthcare and are doing one hell of a job Brownie. We spend more per person than any other developed country and rate 37th in quality.

The Bush tax cuts went to any family making over $50,000/yr. Now if that is "rich" then so be it. You have to actually PAY taxes in order to get a tax break. Or is that a concept you don't get.

The top 1% of all wage earners pay 37% percent of the nation's tax bill. The top 5% pay 58%. The top 10% pay 72%. The bottom 90%....NINETY PERCENT, pay only 28% of ALL taxes in the US. So when there is a tax break, who the HELL do you think is going to get it? Those that actually PAY the taxes, that's who.

The top 20% of all wage earners are responsible for 72% of the DISCRETIONARY spending....that would be the spending that actually drives the American....and the world's economy. You stangle that spending and you IMPLODE the entire world's economy,
