Hopefully our R&D in science and technology remains prominent as China has been displaying a growing interest in theirs. Luckily Trump's remaining 3 years in office shouldn't be enough to backtrack to the point where it'll take another Sputnik-like event to wake up our scientific efforts.

Of a more immediate concern, water management is a major undertaking here in the west. I'm hoping to hear what this dismantling will have on our ability to predict the effect of the Pacific's El Nino/La Nina on our weather.

The market is up on a lower than expected (still 2.7%) inflation. Is there any reason to believe data coming from the regime? No.

I won't get into specifics, since there's no way to know for sure, but some voices I trust in the industry are saying what they're seeing is not good. They're saying there is a clear disconnect with that 2.7% figure. If this is correct, if the industry and institutional investors can't trust government numbers going forward, we've got a real problem.
