I think it would better to point out that there are no purely socialist countries.
Many of them are Capitalist with socialist tendencies....which is what the United States is.

Notice that Cuba, China, Russia, and Venezuela aren't on any of your lists.
Also note that the happiest countries don't have large Muslim or black populations because they tend to be too cold for them.

Interesting that the US, which clearly isnt great according to rankings of almost every metric, otherwise MAGA wouldnt have to say MAKE it great AGAIN. I dont think we rate high enough across the board to be a success outside of wealth and power. We also arent the conservative model yet.

While I agree the thread premise is flawed in that it ignores cultural and historical perspectives, not to mention many of those countries are smaller than many of our states......

Findland was just voted the happiest country in the world for about the 8th year straight.

I would love to have Finland's basic cultural approach to things (which breeds hope and toughness at the same time) in our country. But all the entitled bottom feeders in the country would literally blow their minds if they were told what Fins are told.

Now, look at the U.S. and Mexico. I have read that Mexico is considered libertarian. That means nothing. Mexico actually ranked pretty high on the freedom index which pretty much killed that metric. They are a country that is loaded with corruption and evil (cartels). Where are Mexicans going to? You bet. Freest countries in the world my ass.

I think it was Sweden that used to be much more socialistic. I typed in the question and this is what I got back. I want to look into this further. I understand there are some good books on Swedens economic history.....
