Should there be a voting test before elections to ensure people are voting on policies and not just blindly voting?

:yes_text12:
Voting is a "right." That said, it is also a responsibility.
Voting should be limited to land owners, as such, you are then a shareholder in the nation.
You should have to pass a basic questionnaire to show you actually know something of the country and the candidates and not just pulling levers, thus eliminating election noise so that the ballots counted actually represent informed opinions.
This would challenge people to get more involved in their country.
That and the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed.

A Republic Makes Citizens Mere Spectators

Why should a voter learn all that? Electing has little to do with voting. The people should have the right to veto any legislative act and Supreme Court decision.
They do through the people they elect to represent them in their government.

Since such a vote impacts an entire nation. In Americas case, an entire Western civilization I think this would be prudent. A short 8-10-questions, it wouldn't be too difficult but it would be policy driven to ensure that voters are voting based on critical features.

75% Is a pass and you can vote, anything less and you have to take a refresher civics and policy course to have your voting ability for the current cycle reinstated.

They could throw in some trick questions to eliminate poorly informed and or biased voters. For instance, "I'm only voting for this candidate because they are a white/black man, or white/black woman".

The system would kick them out and advise them to complete the aforementioned short course within 72 hours to have their vote reinstated this cycle. It would be a more exhausting test though to overcome any prejudiced for those voting based on demographics.

Thoughts?
That's actually unconstitutional.

Plus it would exclude every tRump supporter I've ever met.

Oh look, there's that fascism you claim you aren't.

Says the guy that thinks anyone who would vote for Trump should be excluded.
I did not say that. I said the test that you wanted would exclude any tRump supporter I ever met.

YOu're the one who wants an intelligence test. (which you've just proved you would fail I believe)

Actions have consequences.

why would you want to take away your own right to vote?

You are one of the most poorly informed and biased people on this forum.

I am informed on the issues. I certainly understand them far more than the average person, American or not. Outside of America the media report ithe issues with even less wobjectivity. There has never been support for a GOP candidate for instance and rarely are issues.discussed in a balanced manner. GOP are always bad, Dems always good. Especially.during the last decades of decline which the West has experienced. No doubt, the MSS are behind much of this influence in media and politics. They have performed fantastically for thier natiins interests and objectives there is no doubt of this.

For the record, I started this thread tongue in cheek so to speak, but I did so with the purpose of sounding the alarm on the state of voters who are poorly informed. Media has not done their job of informing and the lifting of the obligation for media to be balanced (I think GWB did this).not only turned media into full.time partisan political agents, but it has created a more uninformed voter. This is how.enemy states will ensure the collapse of the U.S dollar, via uninformed.naive and even unconcerned voters. If you dont vote on and understand well the truth of the issues, you are tempting harm to your nation.

That would rule out 90% of maga garbage from voting.

No you are not. You are misinformed on the issues. That is why you are too embarrassed to ever give a single source you use.
Are you insane? I constsntly provide my sources, orten in the face of allegations similar to the one yiu just made. I dint do it every time as you need to do your own resesrch as well, especially when more well known news reports are ignored.

I have never seen you provide your source. I have asked 1000 times and you always give the same BS line that you do not want to "influence others".
Wow. Go look at all of my posts on here and the repeated times I have deended my stated facts with links. I am not going to provide.constant links to appease your ilk. You have search engines, use them, especially if you use more than one..

Show where I said I want any test to vote, prove it, liar. Go ahead, I dare you.

Who gets to judge? Political appointees with a built in political bias? If we want to fix the system we have to use photo I.D.'s and keep non citizens from voting. Let the voters determine their own agenda.
