why, indeed?

if you're playing by the rules, why should you be penalized for doing so?

he shouldn't, he probably pays his taxes more readily than the elected democwats we see.

Does "readily" mean "happily" or "on time"? My answer will be different in each case. :eusa_whistle:

let's just say you pay em.. unlike Wrangall, and some other high faluting demoncwats the obamalama appointed to high office. you stand with the 50% of us do pay federal income taxes.. so I'll take your employment any day over the 50% who don't..

Green cards give them the right to work.
This is the land of equality and the land of opportunity.
Anyone who thinks that a green card is not enough to warrant equality in the US simply does not understand who we are and what we are all about.....does not understand our DIFFERENTIAL in the world.

There are hundreds of thousands of aliens on visas and green-cards employed ahead of US citizens. I want to see a clearing house where a qualified citizen can "bump" an alien for a job in his area and field. Similar to union seniority rules. This link is old, but shows about how many non-citizens were working here while unemployment goes to 11%

It should be up to the employer. And the employer should also be able to hire illegal immigrants. :)

OK - now we differ. But it's a separate point and I don't want to go OT.

I know it isn't a popular view. I'd rather see employers be required to pay a living wage than see them be required to enforce immigration policy.

how would they be required to enforce immigration policy? That is the single most stupidest answer you could have come up with. The truth is you don't want ANYBODY to enforce immigration policy.

They already are required to an extent. They must screen their employees and make sure all their papers are in order or they get fined or imprisoned.

So you would rather see businesses not hire people (who would voluntarily work for a lower wage than what is defined as a "living wage") than have them hire people. Production of goods and services decrease and more people are out of work. The entire economy suffers. Sounds like a solid plan.

I do agree with employees being able to hire illegal immigrants. Everyone benefits from it.

so then if this is true how many employers are in prison for "not enforcing immigration" laws?

Whynoy let them apply for resident status if they get a job, and make resident status dependant upon keeping that job, paying taxes and all the other things that other residents are supposed to do. )Ttyping with one hand while eating peanuts...)

Because I oppose government borders and taxes.

 That's a good point...I don't have the bugs all worked out.

But a living wage in one part of the country could be much cheaper than in other parts.

I voted no-employers should be allowed to hire who they want.

I would however prefer they hired american citizens first then legal workers with visas/green cards 2nd but this is America and I dont think the government has a right to tell business to do that.

Just like I think it should be up to a business if they want to allow smoking inside their establishment....i wouldn't eat at your smokey restaurant but if you can make money while letting people smoke cigs you should be able to.

Do you approve of public education and government provided safety nets for the poor?

Fair enough. I have no answer to that.

I do not approve of threats of violence and imprisonment to fund education and welfare.

When education and welfare are done peacefully and voluntarily I'm all for it.

not if run by and funded by the federal government. If run and funded by the state gov and its citizens i have no problem with it.
