Zone1 Should Christmas Eve Be Considered A Federal Holiday?

I guess that Joe Biden has been pushing for it. At least that's how it appears to be by giving most federal employees the day off. That's an extremely rare time where I don't think that it's completely horrible. I mean, people have parties and family get togethers on Christmas Eve, so why not make it a federal holiday?

It is the discretion of private employers that decide if they give an extra day off in addition to the federal holiday. The day after Thanksgiving for instance or Christmas Eve. But federal employees get generous paid leave time and if they want extra days around holidays they should save some of it for that.

My vote would have been no because Atheists take advantage of religious holidays, and in the same breath, they belittle religion.

Personally, Atheists should get zero holidays. I'm agnostic, so I should get half of them !!

Taking more days off piles up the work on remaining workdays. Trash collectors work overtime after holidays. If the work doesn't pile up, then that's a job that doesn't need so many employees, or they could all have their schedules reduced to four day work weeks with matching changes in salary.
