and they aren't manufactured here. Which means that it needs to be
smuggled into the country, so in that sense international players are contributing to shootings in Sweden. These kinds of guns usually come from the Balkans, as they have a surplus of weapons from past decades of conflict."
Are those the kind of weapons you usually seize or are, for example, Swedish hunting weapons also confiscated?
"No. Swedish hunting rifles are extremely rare in these kinds of contexts, it's usually assault rifles such as the AK 47, pistols or submachine guns. It is very, very rare that we see hunting weapons as a part of our work with Operation Hoarfrost."

STOCKHOLM, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Sweden's Minister for Home Affairs Mikael Damberg vowed on Tuesday to tackle gang-related crimes following the recent tragic death of a 12-year-old girl.
"We must gather strength against this. We are expanding the police with more employees and new tools. But if we do not stop the new recruitment of young people into the criminal environment, the harsh measures will not play such a big role," Damberg was quoted by Swedish Television (SVT) as saying.
A 12-year-old girl was killed on Sunday after being hit by a stray bullet in a gang shooting at a petrol station car park in Norsborg, south of the country's capital Stockholm.
According to SVT, the shooting was part of an escalating conflict between gangs fighting over local drug markets.
"It's terribly tragic. You feel a great anger towards the criminal gangs who show no empathy because their shootings affect others. There are no words to describe the grief that it means for parents to lose their child in this way," said Damberg.
"The police are now making great efforts in the murder hunt. They are using all available resources to convict the perpetrators of this act," he added, calling on witnesses to contact the police.
Norsborg stands out as one of the country's most gang-ravaged areas, Manne Gerell, associate professor of criminology at Malmo University, told SVT. Gerell added that there are active criminal networks in Norsborg, with police issuing three warnings about shootings in the past 14 days alone.
Despite Swedish police tightening surveillance and toughening sentences for drugs and weapons-related crimes recently, bombings, shootings and gang-related crimes in Sweden have not decreased.
Too many considering they have gun control.

Nothing stops them from getting these weapons..which means if they were to decide to walk into a school, a mall, a church, a mosque, or a theater, nothing would stop them since they already have Fully Automatic Military Rifles and Grenades.

Because of the proliferation of weapons. They are readily available in this country..and plentiful.
Wrong......we know this is wrong because as more Americans went out, bought guns and then actually carried them, our gun murder rate went down 49%, it did not go up......our gun crime rate went down 75%, it did not go up...
Since gun crime went down as more Americans own and carry guns......not up....you are completely and utterly wrong.....
Over the last 27 years, we went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 18.6 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2018...guess what happened...

What does this cherry picked screed have to do with why gang members kill with guns? You asked the question. "Why do American gangs murder each other in greater numbers than Swedish gangs do?". That is your answer. Guns are available, guns are prevalent. Unlike in Sweden, which has strict gun control laws.
