I think Putin is trying to appear stronger than he is by scaring politicians he know are easily scared. It stops them from thinking they can just invade Russia really easily, which they could, if they weren't scared.

I have not heard of ideas to invade Russia or back in the old days, when the west realized they were in a cold war.
Putin is trying to scare people, basically unfamiliar with war, tactics, logistic numbers, nuclear weapons, etc, that the worst is about to happen (when it is not), so the unschooled will bring pressure on their leaders. Tough luck. The Putin shithead is wrong again. It won't give him the ability to fly his fighter jets toward NATO Country capitals over those NATO country's soil. They really will shoot down. Hell, even little Ukraine has shot them down, so can and would NATO shoot them down, to keep air supremacy over their own countries, with their much more advance fighters and air defense systems? Absolutely. And there is no possibilty, the Godless Russians, will start a war with NATO for the right to fly into controlled airspace in NATO countries, at will. This kind of strategic stupidity, that would doom Russia, in that fight and one reason they cannot even defeat Ukraine, and will undoubtedly lose, the war they started, in their lawless fight to invade Ukraine.
