Prudishness arises from a diseased mind, the kind that goes all the way back to the beginning when an exasperated God asked Adam and Eve, "Who told you that you were naked?" Mankind was wrong then and their wrong now, even Christians claiming to know the mind of God still mired in original sin and perpetuating its deception.

Speaking of whom, was gonna add something about 'has Fox ever shown classical works depicting Adam and Eve or other Biblical scenes? Most of which were nudes?' (many of the ones with fig leaves were added by church censors after the fact.)

Well it appears the "I want to jack off in public" crowd thinks Fox should show nudity of their station and flock here to say so.

I don't know that anyone is saying Fox should show gratuitous nudity, but when they blur it out, they feed into the outdated nonsense that the human body is obscene. That other stations showed an unredacted version throws into contrast Fox's catering to the prudish "family values" crowd.

I use to work out at the YMCA where there are communial showers in the men's locker rooms. Trust me the human body is obscene.

Censorship of the non-sexual human form is one of our biggest problems. It's saying that our bodies are something harmful if viewed and therefore must be censored lest anyone be damaged beholding them. Even more outlandish, is when they go the extra mile to censor non-photo depictions as here, or animated tv shows. Or even semi0sheer garments like an episode of Tosh.O yesterday where some supermodel was on for the banana or knife bit wearing a t-shirt which I guess was sheer-enough that there were big blurs over her breasts.

When you censor the human form all you do is call attention to the censorship whereas minus it people probably wouldn't even have noticed as in the Tosh.o instance, or the painting version.

Some hope though maybe. Checking out a Marilyn Monroe thing on Lifetime yesterday, bit with her in the pool and night then flashing her bare bottom was a surprise. Not the real Marilyn of course, though I did see the porno of her. It's worth a look if a fan of her's.

An opinion. As a naturist, I've seen a lot more naked people than you and they are not obscene. Prudism is a byproduct of a mind adumbrated by original sin and unable to free itself of its shadow. "Who told you that you were naked?" God asked of Adam and Eve who were hiding behind fig leaves. It couldn't be clearer that their prudishness was a direct result of their sin and separation from God.

Prudism is a mental illness, a distortion of reality. That so many people have it doesn't change the fact. God made us beautiful, in his own image. We distort that beauty and it becomes a foul thing to us. But for some of us, we have learned to be free of such perversion and rediscover a small part of the joy and innocence of Eden. You can too.

I haven't lied about Fox in this thread, I only stated IF it is on Fox Cable, they are not restricted in what they can show.... like they would be over the public airwaves.... exactly how is that a lie? I don't see anything personally that would lead children to get off on the pic without the censoring but maybe the two fried eggs hanging around above the lady's stomach and various other spots in the painting, and don't think censoring was needed if on cable, but again it's not my decision, it was theirs to make....they know better about their own customers and what would be offensive to them, than I would ever possibly know, that's why my opinion doesn't count on this...

Fox does news - when they do, it is distributed to both the cable channel and the affiliates.

ABC, CBS, and NBC do the same.
