I don't know why Colin Farrell gets acting gigs. He's not a very good actor. He annoys me.
However, if you have the right script and the right director, even a movie with Colin Farrell in it can be great, and Seven Psychopaths is great.
In fact, this director/screenwriter has made nothing but good movies. Not a stinker in the bunch.
He's written and directed In Bruges; Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; among others. He also favors a lot of the same actors in his movies.
Seven Psychopaths revolves around a dognapping ring which steasl people's dogs and then pretend to be good Samaritans who found the "lost" dogs and humbly accept some cash from the grateful owners.
All is going swimmingly until they mistakenly steal a psychopath's dog.
A funny movie. Even the blatant foreshadowing is funny.
Oh...Tom Waits is priceless, like always. He even upstages Christopher Walken, which only Tom Waits can do.
Which reminds me. Watch through the end credits. There's a bonus scene you don't want to miss.
