Pete may disappoint as Sec of Defense but he can't possibly be as bad as Austin was. Tenure and positions are worthless if they don't make a person more qualified.

I'll take the one with the right attitude, goals, objectives and vision any day of the week against undistinguished tenure. And I'll put my money on Pete making some mistakes--who doesn't?--but in the long term I bet he does just fine.
