If you break the commandments of the state, you will go to hell for a time called jail. The laws and commandments are written to benefit man in this life as well as eternal life. If you cannot abide by them, there has to be a place where those who can abide by them go as a reward. Where I differ from most Christian sects is we believe Paul’s writings that there are 3 degrees or mansions in heaven. Those are based on our level and valiance of testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, even bad people can confess Jesus is the Christ and not go to hell. But not go to the highest mansion, the Celestial Kingdom. Only those who deny the Holy Ghost end up in perdition forever with Lucifer.

7. Only those who deny the Holy Ghost will remain in a state and place like hell with Lucifer and the third of our spirit brothers and sisters who refused to follow our Father to the earth and be tested by our faith. Not tested by our knowledge of science.

So, faith in Jesus Christ will help to fully repent for minor and major sins such as adultery. We all sin and fall short the glory of God. It’s not the sin. It’s the repentance process that will decide the level of our faith and forgiveness.
